Description of tasting:

A string of exceptional vintages handled by extremely gifted winemakers has propelled an appellation to new heights of praise and popularity. Nowhere in France is there more unbridled excitement these days than Beaujolais. More specifically, Cru Beaujolais. We're not talking about Nouveau that is a traditional way to ring in the holiday season. We're not talking about Beaujolais Villages which sources the gamay grape from several areas in this southern Burgundy countryside. Cru Beaujolais is crafted from gamay grown within the limits of specific villages in Beaujolais and represent the highest level of quality the grape can achieve.

Jean Foillard represents the highest level of vigneron in this reinvigorated region. In this respect, he keeps great company with the likes of Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Marc Burgaud, and Alain Coudert among others. These winemakers are among the masters in coaxing the most expressive bottlings from the vineyard sites of Morgon and Fleurie. Amazing with hearty winter fare and more ageable than most have patience for, find out the charm behind the wine and why the Beaujolais Rennaissance is in full swing! Join USQ for a hearty serving of Foillard with pours from Lapierre, Clos de la Roillette, Domaine Burgaud, Domaine Pavillon de Chavannes, and Domaine Vissoux.

Admission to this tasting is FREE, and reservations are not required!
