There is a lot more to vodka than the odorless, colorless, flavorless myth seems to imply. Each Saturday evening in May, we’ll be pouring Russian Standard Original and Russian Standard Premium at the Barrel. 

Distilled four times with the waters of Lake Ladoga, a glacial lake outside of St. Petersburg (home of the Russian Standard distillery), the vodka is a great example of the classic Russian “wheat flavor” vodka. TheStandard Original, based on a formula commissioned by Czar Alexander III in 1894, offers hints of bread and spice in a creamy body that goes down smoothly. The Standard Premium makes use of modern, state-of-the-art technology and a silver filtration system to further purify the liquor into an “ultra-crisp and ultra-smooth spirit.” Try each neat, then in cocktail form with two signature concoctions.
