Gaja Sperss 2001
Color: Burgundy. International Wine Cellar (94% Nebbiol, 6% Barbera) Sperss displays the austere character typical of Serralunga terroir: deep structure and lots of ripe tannins. The nose shows a dark, pure and very focused fruit with classic hints of tar, licorice and a touch of truffles. Score: 95. —Stephen Tanzer, Wine Spectator Superclean, with raspberry, plum and cedar aromas and flavors. Just a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very fine indeed. Stylish. Best after 2008. 2,800 cases made. Score: 93. —James Suckling, October 31, 2005. Customers who purchased this item also bought:
