Shop > A is for Aligoté

Looking for something that crackles with acidity and bristles with verve? Something to savor with oysters or quaff with spring vegetable salads? Have you tried all the Muscadets and sipped all the Sancerres? Then it just might be time to try an aligoté. Once planted throughout the chardonnay vineyards of Burgundy, aligoté has since been removed from the cherished sights and can now be found planted in small parcels from Chablis to the Mâconnais.

We've assembled our favorite aligotés perfect for warm weather sipping below. You'll find Hubert de Villaine's light-gold Bouzeron, a benchmark for the variety, as well as Domaine Ponsot's legendary 100-year old Aligoté vine-based Clos de Luisants. We've also secured two vibrant bottlings from Chablis' Alice and Olivier de Moor. The Aligato-o is an unsulphured bottling that shines with briny shellfish, while the Plantation 1902 cuvée is a limited bottling crafted with fruit from 100+ year old vines - easily our favorite of the bunch. Finally, our old friend Josh Jensen at Calera was kind enough to part with a few six-packs of his tasting-room-only Jensen Vineyard aligoté, one of the most delicious picnic wines that we've ever tasted from the Golden State.

All of these wines are available now in limited supplies - cheers!
