...and other cold weather antidotes.
Barolo for $30. Château d'Yquem at 50% off. Austria's wonderous Wachau whites for less than $20...And the list goes on. 2010 is off with a bang and the bargain-loving wine buyer has never had it better with millions of dollars worth of unsold wine inventory available, to those who know where to look, at half- to more than half-off regualr retail prices.
The latest head-turner comes from St.-Emilion's garagiste icon Valandraud. Jean-Luc Thunevin's seemingly immortal 2003 Valandraud was one of the first ridiculous wine bargains to hit our shelves last August, a deal we put our weekend in the North Fork on hold to lock down, and one which holiday shoppers took advantage of during high gift giving season. Sold at lower than half the price of retailers around the globe, our low $79.99 price tag even prompted the proprietor to see about purchasing his wine back from us, a move that estates such as Gruaud Larose and Petrus have made in recent weeks, buying back hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of wine back from mega-importer Diageo.
We're sorry to say that our magnums of 2003 Valandraud HAVE SOLD OUT! You'll find the last of our 750s below at at over 50% off market price while supplies last...
