Blackberry and kirsch flavors run through this vibrant Champagne, along with whole-grain toast, walnut and honey flavors. This is driven by dry, racy acidity, all set on a creamy mousse and an elegant texture. Drink now through 2017.

The 2002 Brut Grand Cru Millesime Special Club is also 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from Ay but it shows better balance than the Brut Millesime, with a touch more clarity, focus and vibrancy. Gorgeous red berries, wild flowers, menthol and licorice form this beautiful, articulate Champagne. Subtle notes of chalk and pastry add complexity to the rich close. Disgorged on June 1, 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020.

yellow. Ripe, rather exotic aromas of mango, musky citrus pith and cherry pit. Then sappy and fruit-driven on the palate, with pineapple and cherry flavors lifted by zesty minerality. Offers a suave combination of density and freshness. Finishes with a slight bitterness but very good cut and smoky length.
