Vieux Telegraphe's Daniel Brunier describes 2006 as a "European vintage," speaking to the abundance of wines that display pinot noir-like grace and elegance with just enough of the structure and power that were halmmarks ofthe 2003 and 2005 vintages. Vincent Avril's 2006 Clos des Papes is no exception. Sure, we totally dug the bombastic 2005 Wine of the Year, but we have to say this 2006 is a more refined glass of wine. |
