The Guado al Tasso estate in Tuscany's Bolgheri is the source of our favorite super Tuscan in the Antinori portfolio, an impressive line-up that includes notable wines such as Tignanello and Solaia. While the flagship wine produced here can command close to $100 per bottle, their second wine is a steal. Crafted with the same Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah blend as the Guado al Tasso, Il Bruciato boasts enticing aromas of dark berries, sage, and cedar, with full-bodied flavors of black plum and cassis that persist throughout its long, juicy finish. We've enjoyed many of these tableside at Otto with their pizzas and pastas. At home, we'd suggest pairing it with broiled hangar steaks and crispy, roasted potatoes with sea salt and rosemary. |
