Bodegas El Nido is the brainchild of super-importer Jorge Ordoñez, Jumilla's Gil family, and Australia's internationally renowned winemaker Chris Ringland. This ravishingly delicious blend of old-vines Monastrell (a.k.a. Mourvèdre) and Cabernet Sauvignon has been a consistent showstopper ever since its debut 2002 vintage; new vintages are generally sold-out prior to release. We stashed a few cases of the opulent 2005 Clio especially for our customers looking to see what all the fuss is about. This unctuous red has ripe fruit flavors of blackberry and cherry with aromas of toast and cocoa powder. It works exceptionally well with bacon burgers or rare steaks drenched in rich reductions. This wine is limited to stock on hand. |
