Proprietor Willi Brundlmayer is considered royalty among Austria's wine cognoscenti and his single-vineyard bottlings from famed sites such as the Lamm vineyard are among the most sought after wines in the country. This special cuvée is crafted with Grüner Veltliner that doesn't get used for Brundlmayer's single-vineyard wines. Tell-tale Grüner Veltliner aromas of cut pear, green herbs and citrus are inviting enough, but it's the sappy fruit basket and mineral flavors that keep us coming back glass after glass. This makes an enjoyable aperitif, but make sure to bring one to table where it elevates dishes with fresh ingredients like pan roasted trout with roast summer corn and Poblano succotash, or lightly dressed sweet pea greens with Sicilian tuna.
