2009 Jean-Marc Burgaud - Morgon Cote Du Py Reserve

We've been fans of Jean-Marc Burgaud for about a decade, buying whatever cuvées his US importer would offer. Our favorites have always been his Cote du Py-based Morgons, outgoing expressions of Gamay that can be formidably structured and reserved upon release, or outgoing and sumptuous like Burgaud's. The Reserve bottling is similar comprised of old vines fruit left to age in barrel for at least 12 months before being bottled. While Burgaud's '09s have yet to reach our shores, the '07 is drinking very well right now. Pair this dark fruit and spice scented vin de plaisir with savory pork chops and herb roasted spaetzle. JGS
