Proprietor Bob Lindquist founded Qupé in 1982, with a mind to craft wines from Rhône Valley grape varieties planted in vineyards throughout California's Santa Barbara area. Rather than make wines with ubiquitous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay, Lindquist began bottling elegant wines from Marsanne, Roussanne, and Syrah.
