This opulent Cabernet hails from one of the early pioneers of California's Paso Robles wine region. Justin's vineyards are among the most beautiful in California, stretched across acres of lush hillsides east of Highway 101 toward the Pacific Ocean. Ripeness here is seldom a problem as evidenced in dark, full-bodied wines like this heady Cabernet. Mint, sweet green tobacco, and cassis are among the aromas you might find at first approach, with flavors of blackberry, espresso, and vanilla that lead to a long, plush finish. The Justin is supple and tasty enough to enjoy sans food, but do yourself a favor and savor a glass alongside one of Pat Lafrieda's signature burger blends or a dry-aged rib-eye steak with whipped garlic potatoes. |
