Aurelio Montes' vineyards in the cool-climate Leyda Valley have paid off in spades, yielding outstanding Pinot Noirs and dynamic Sauvignons like this fantastic steal, which puts comparable California Sauvignon Blancs to shame. Explosive gooseberry and grapefruit aromas are the first indication that this wine is out to win fans, and the unctuous citrus flavors and refreshingly crisp finish close the deal. Even better is the fact that this Sauvignon-wonder is inexpensive enough to score a few bottles to suck down with all those oysters in the fridge.
