Domaine de la Mordoree is considered one of the southern Rhône Valley's top producers, whose Reine des Bois Châteauneuf-du-Papes elicit raves from consumers, and critics such as as Wine Specatator and Robert Parker. Recently, Parker cited their top Tavel cuvée as "the finest rosé this ole boy has ever drunk..."
While the Reine des Bois Tavel was considered too pricey for the stateside importer to consider bringing any to the States, a small amount of the delicious Dame Rousse are here now. Crafted with a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre, Syrah, Bourbolenc, and Clairette, this floral-scented rosé is admirably dry despite its layers of sturdy fruit flavors. Enjoy it with garlicky roasts or bacon-decked comté burgers.
