Way to go Wiemer! Wine lovers would be wise to keep this Finger Lakes winery on their radar as a source of top quality juice that won't break the bank. Featured in a recent NY Times article titled "Complex American Wine at a Price Easy to Pay," the Wiemer scored raves from Times wine writer Eric Asimov for its "complex flavors of lime zest, honeyed grapefruit, cantaloupe, and minerals." Always one of our favorites, we often give this to riesling fanatics looking to taste something with opulent, Alsace riesling-like aromas and taut, Mosel-like finish. Enjoy it with pan-seared scallops and lardons while it lasts. |
