Drawing on fruit from choice vineyards throughout South Africa's Western Cape, Indaba's bargain-priced Chardonnay is one of the world's great wine values. And we're not the only ones who think so; for the past two vintages, Wine Advocate writer David Schildknecht has emphatically exclaimed that "if one could replace the 98 percent of cheap Chardonnay being poured around the world that ranges from mediocre to miserable with glasses of this, no consumer would (nor should) ever again be willing to settle for less." Aromas and flavors of baked apple, hazelnut, and citrus aren't muted by overt oak flavors and the wine displays a freshness and complexity one would expect to find in bottles two or three times the price. It's just that good. Enjoy the Indaba on its own as a refreshing aperitif or serve it alongside everything from seafood pasta to fresh green salads and fried chicken! |
