Though you won't find this Reims-based estate plastering images alongside the M15 anytime soon, it has started to gain recognition amidst the tumultuous world of fine Champagne. The Brut Souverain is a traditional blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that offers titillating floral and fruit aromas that seem to shimmer through the mousse and across the palate. We've enjoyed this affordable luxury with everything from paddlefish roe on crostini at breakfast to smoked salmon quiches at dinner. |

A frisky Champagne, whose light citrus, ginger and yeast flavors are driven by the brisk acidity. Dissipates a little on the finish. Nice aperitif. Bruce Sanderson

The NV Brut Souverain (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay) is a tasty, easygoing wine with attractive floral white fruit. This accessible NV is best enjoyed over the next year or two. Antonio Galloni

Light gold. Smoky pear and peach on the nose, with subtle anise and grain qualities adding complexity. More plump than usual for this cuvee, offering ripe but focused orchard fruit and tangerine flavors of excellent depth. Finishes sappy and impressively long. I prefer the "normal" Souverain this year, by a nose. Josh Raynolds
