Lopez de Heredia's Cubillo Crianza is generally the most succulent and plump offering from this storied Rioja producer. Rarely seen in half-bottle, tihs 2005 Crianza is singing with a quick pop-and-pour. Dark cherry and subtle fennel and sage aromas get things rolling for the medium-bodied red licorice, leather and spice flavors that follow. A welcome addition to any table tihs really hits the mark with salted nuts, stewed beans with pork, and roasted, grilled, or braised lamb and beef. Highly recommended! JGS
