Sassetti Pertimali Brunello di Montalcino is a premium wine made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on vines planted between 1988 and 2001 on the top of Montosoli hill. The wine has a deep silky red color with layered aromas of dark cherry, wild berry, and floral notes. It has a smooth, sinuous texture with elegant tannins and a long finish. To produce this wine, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 28-29°C for 10-12 days. The wine is then aged for 36 months in 30 Hl Slavonian oak barrels and an additional 6 months in the bottle. The wine's clay and limestone soils give it a unique flavor that wine enthusiasts will appreciate.
Depths of dark, balsamic-tinged black cherry, plum sauce and autumnal spice make the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino impossible to ignore. This is velvety to the core, nearly opulent in feel, with a dense wave of ripe red fruits complemented by nuances of sweet lavender and tobacco. It leaves the palate clenched with fine tannins and primary concentration, creating a classic sensation that transcends the vintage. Nearly a minute goes by, and hints of cocoa and sweet herbs continue to resonate. Wow! Production at the Pertimali estate was down by 20% due to the spring frost, and the decision was made to place all of the juice usually intended for the Riserva into the straight Brunello, the result being one of the top wines of the vintage. 2025 – 2033
