When Jenny & Francois Selections was formed in 2000, organic wine was still a buzz word on the periphery of wine conversations, biodynamic was even more obscure, and the idea of natural wine hadn't even entered most debates in the New York market. Nowadays, this approach to wine production, as well as food movements, is not only recognized and implemented by producers the world over but demanded by an increasing number of eco-conscious imbibers.
Says Jenny Lefcourt, one half of the founding team, "We feel close in philosophy and goals to movements such as Fair Trade and Slow Foods, as well as environmental movements. Our hope is that Jenny & François Selections helps passionate winemakers, who respect the environment and high standards of quality, to continue what they do by bringing their wines to the United States."
