This remarkable rum is the vision of founder Monica Baeza, created as a tribute to her mother's legacy and a new adventure in distilling that honors tradition, community, and the land.
Sourced from 100% estate-grown sugarcane harvested in the shadow of Volcán de Tequila, this 'ron agrícola' is made entirely from fresh-pressed juice. The juice undergoes a natural fermentation for two to three days in open-top pine vats, capturing the essence of the unique volcanic terroir. It is then twice-distilled—first in a stainless steel alembic and then rectified in a copper pot still—under the expert guidance of Maestro Destilador Juan Ramon Barba Anza. 'Llamarada,' which translates to 'fire burst,' aptly describes the spirit's power, yet belies its impressively delightful and balanced character.
Bottled at a high, still-strength-inspired proof, this rum offers powerful, round, and heady aromatics. The nose is a captivating blend of ripe papaya, maple sap, and fresh cane juice.
