Chairman's Reserve Original Rum is the signature expression that first established the iconic style of St. Lucian rum from this celebrated distillery. First blended in 1999 under the watchful eye of founder Laurie Barnard, this rum is a testament to his core belief that the finest spirits are achieved through the "Art of Blending"—masterfully combining various components rather than relying on a single barrel.
This exceptional rum beautifully embodies that philosophy. Its unique complexity is derived from a marriage of two distinct distillates made from molasses: a graceful and elegant rum from a traditional Coffey column still, expertly blended with a more robust, flavorful rum from a John Dore copper pot still. This carefully composed blend is then aged for an average of four to five years in ex-bourbon barrels, maturing patiently in the warm tropical climate of Saint Lucia, which accelerates the dynamic interaction between the spirit and the wood.
The result is a beautifully balanced and characterful rum that has become a benchmark for the style. It delights the palate with notes of cooked banana, rich caramelized fruits, and a spicy, oak-derived vanilla.
