No Es Pituko Cabernet Franc 2022 offers a captivating and intensely vibrant expression of natural wine from the family-run Viña Echeverria in Chile. The "No Es Pituko" line represents the winery's passion for crafting high-quality, low-intervention wines, embracing meticulous care to showcase the purest character of the grape and the unique terroir of the Maule Valley.
This distinctive red wine is crafted exclusively from 100% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the proprietor's single vineyard planted with special, ungrafted clones of pre-phylloxera French rootstock—a nod to the vineyard's unique heritage. The winemaking is intentionally minimalist to preserve the grape's pristine nature. After a careful hand-harvest, the grapes ferment with their own natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by natural malolactic fermentation. True to its philosophy, the wine is bottled without any stabilization, filtration, or added sulfites.
The result is a wine that is vivid, pure, and bursting with primary fruit character. It pours an intense, vibrant cherry colour, slightly cloudy due to its lack of processing. The nose is alive with aromas of black cherry and fresh plum. On the palate, it is fresh and persistent, with a textural, crunchy feel, grippy tannins, and bright acidity that beautifully balances the concentrated, juicy notes of black cherry and blackberry. This is a wonderfully pure and expressive wine, best served slightly chilled to enhance its fruit-driven charm.
